My name is Dodie Thompson and I am a second grade teacher at Windy Gap Elementary in Franklin County. This is my 18th year in education. I have taught every grade from Kindergarten through 4th. Teaching children to read and love reading is a passion of mine, so when my friend asked me to join the reading council many years ago I said Yes!! I have been a member for a while and have most recently served as the corresponding secretary.  It is my hope to keep everyone informed of our chapter’s events. Teaching is a very rewarding and sometimes challenging profession. I would like to see our council find ways to support more teachers in their journey to making reading accessible and fun for all!
