Cynthia Perdue

This year marks my 26th year in education, and literacy continues to be at the heart of the work I love. Throughout my career, I have served as a first-grade reading specialist, instructional coach, and supervisor of reading. I am passionate about helping students become confident readers and supporting teachers as they grow their literacy practices.

Outside of education, I enjoy crafting, gardening, and spending time with my miniature Goldendoodle puppy. I’m also the proud mom of two grown sons and am grateful for a wonderfully supportive husband.

This year will mark my first year as treasurer of the Roanoke Reading Council. I’m excited to connect, collaborate, and share ideas with fellow literacy professionals throughout the Roanoke area!
